Description

Starved of astronomical photons locally, I signed up to Roboscopes inspired by @Peter Shah images here.

I am taking my first steps with a consortium using a Tak 180ED combined with a ZWO2600MC OSC - keeping things (relatively) simple.

Here is an image of M33 (not requested by me), taking the 155 best 120 secsubs from a run of over 200 subs.

I am very impressed by the quality of the data and calibration supplied by Roboscopes.  They have a great suite of telescopes/cameras to suit most tastes, and its good to have an observatory with a good range of CMOS cameras - more of what I am used to.

For my first processing attempt, I picked M33.  Its galaxy season down here, and M33 is tantalisingly out of reach, culminating at 14degrees, above 3 degrees above the mountain immediately to the north.

This is also my first attempt at using drizzling to stack sub-frames.  And - wow! - it is slow - but I think the results are worthwhile.

I have heavily cropped the original image, but the Tak 180ED is an impressive scope for field and speed.
